Lots of new pictures are posted!
So what does Stone Ledge look like in May, 2012? You can see all the pictures on our Facebook page. Click here: http://Facebook.com/StoneLedge
And yes. One of the pics you’ll see is of “Pig Poop”. Pigs have now decided to call Stone Ledge “home”. We’re not happy about that but our hunters will be.
From Ugly to Gorgeous!
The Texas hill country has never been greener than it is right now. So what’s that mean for wildlife?
After two long and super dry years, every living creature, plant and tree is enjoying the wet spring that we’re experiencing.
The survival rate on fawns this year should be the best its been in years and antler growth will be amazing. This past weekend we hosted a group of exotic hunters. EVERY single “stomach” of the game that was brought in was absolutely stuffed with green grass. And there’s nothing more nutritious than natural browse for wildlife.
If you’ve not yet reserved your dates for this fall, don’t delay. Our animals are fat, healthy and abundant and we’d love to spoil you with world-class service that Stone Ledge Ranch is known for! So let the rains keep coming and we’ll continue bringing you updates.
I hope to see you soon around the world famous Stone Ledge fire pit.
Rain, Rain, Rain
Lady Luck is smiling upon us in the hill country. The first long-lasting rainfall (in more than a year) came in December and we’ve received a great soaking downpour each month since.
The rain gauge says 1.70 inches in the past 24 hours and we have a great chance of rain most every day for the next week. We’ve got a great head start on the pastures “greening up” and once the weather hits the 80 degree mark, things will be sprouting everywhere.
Our first shed hunts begin soon and there should be many great finds. If you’ve not yet scheduled your hunting dates for this year, don’t put it off any longer. Give us a shout and we’ll take good care of you.
We’ll continue to keep you posted on the rain gauge. Keep your fingers crossed!
